Car chases are a mainstay of cinema, all the way back to the silent era (when cars first started existing). Basically, the moment we realized machines could push us along in metal "horseless carriages", we wanted to see them chase each other and explode. So it makes sense that we'd have entire films dedicated to the art of the car chase (hell, the FAST AND FURIOUS franchise is built on it). And this summer Edgar Wright is throwing his hat in the ring with his car chase/heist film BABY DRIVER.
And now we have a new trailer, showing off some more footage. Let's take a look:
Great. Now I got that song in my head for the rest of the day.
Other than that, there's some definitely cool stuff in here. I especially like the way Baby (yeah, that's the character's name) uses the road spikes against the cops – moreso after finding out most of the stunts were done for real. So I'm excited for sure. Then again, anything with Wright's name on it would make me at least give it a chance.
Meanwhile, BABY DRIVER will revv into theaters June 28th, 2017.
