ANT-MAN AND THE WASP hits theaters today for early shows before being rolled out everywhere at all times tomorrow. Before you head to the theater we have one more featurette for you, and this one highlights all the crazy action and comedic moments you will enjoy from beginning to end. There’s plenty of scenes with Ant-Man/Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) shrinking and growing in inconvenient places, while director Peyton Reed talks about delving into the combat style of Hope Van Dyne/Wasp (Evangeline Lilly). Lilly also says from the moment we see Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) “things don’t stop moving.” I hope you’re ready for this thrill ride, because it goes up, down, side to side, and all in varying sizes.
In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.
The movie is currently earning some great marks for its breezy pace, humor, action and laid-back story. The sequel presents itself as the kind of fun, colorful comic book movie you can sit back and enjoy without stressing over who is going to die or not, which is welcome for sure. Our own Chris Bumbray gave it a solid review, saying, “While this is for sure a lower key Marvel outing, it’s nonetheless slick and fun, and Lilly, Rudd, and Douglas make for a compelling team.” You heard the man! You’ll enjoy it!
