Check out this new trailer from Filmax, the studio who brought you REC and REC 2. The film is called AGNOSIA and it’s being marketed with the “from the producers of…” angle which, after looking over their menu, isn’t a bad idea.
AGNOSIA deals with Joana Prats who suffers from agnosia, a strange neuropsychological illness that affects her perception. Although her eyes and ears are in perfect condition, her brain cannot interpret the stimuli she receives through them. As the only one who knows the industrial secret left behind by her father, the enigmatic young girl will become the victim of a sinister plan to get the information out of her by taking advantage of her sensory confusion. As the plot unfolds, the two men closest to her will become crucial to its outcome: Carles, Joana´s fiancé and her father´s right-hand man, and Vincent, a young, impulsive servant working at the Prats mansion.
Not too shabby, not too shabby. It’s definitely one to look over and if it’s as bizarre as the plot describes it to be then prepare yourself for one heck of a show. This is especially so when people are describing the film as the next ORPHANAGE and PAN’S LABYRINTH.
The thriller is directed by Eugenio Mira and written from Antonio Trashorras. Eduardo Noriega, Martina Gedeck and Jack Taylor star. Isaac Torras produces with a nice resume which includes THE ORPHANAGE, PAN’S LABYRINTH, KING OF HTE HILL, AGORA, TRANSSIBERIAN, RABIA, CELL and 211. Take that Woody Allen.
The film will have world premiere at Fantastic Fest later this month. So if you’ve got about a hundred reasons to attend that film fest well here’s another. So much to choose and out of all of them this is surely one to look after.
