With less than a month to go until its March 11th theatrical release date, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, which wasn't revealed to be connected to the 2008 creature feature CLOVERFIELD (it's described as being a "blood relative" to that film) until the first trailer dropped, doesn't have a lot of time to tease you and build up its mystery, but it's taking advantage of the time it does have.
Last week, there was a Super Bowl spot for the movie, and now we have a second trailer for it, which can be seen below. It runs just 60 seconds, and may be even less revealing than the 30 second TV spot was.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg from a screenplay by Josh Campbell, Matt Stuecken, and Damien Chazelle, 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE has the following synopsis:
The majority of the movie takes place in an underground cellar, and revolves around a young woman who wakes up in the cellar after a severe car accident and fears she has been abducted. Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside.
The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr.
