Netflix's action-fantasy series THE WITCHER, starring Henry Cavill, is probably one of the best live-action adaptations of a videogame ever (though it probably helps that it was a popular book series written by author Andrzej Sapkowski before it was ever a game). Regardless, while flawed, the first season of THE WITCHER series was nonetheless entertaining and fun-as-hell, and it was disappointing when production was shuttered on season 2 due to Covid.
Good news, though, as the official THE WITCHER Twitter account just tweeted this out, confirming that season 2 is to start production up again on August 17th:
I’m dusting off my lute and quill,
I have some news, some mead to spill:
After all the months we’ve been apart
It’s time for production to restart.
The Witcher and his bard – who’s flawless,
Will reunite on set 17 August.— The Witcher (@witchernetflix) June 22, 2020
Here's the official synopsis:
Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired landmass known as "the Continent", The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia and princess Ciri, who are linked by destiny to each other. It stars Henry Cavill, Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra. The show initially follows the three main protagonists at different points of time, exploring formative events that shaped their characters, before eventually merging into a single timeline.
So what do you guys think? Fans of the series? If so, what are you most excited about seeing that's in the books/games, but hasn't shown up in the show yet? Either way, sound off below!
