So this is interesting. Netflix has just ordered eight, one-hour episodes for a show based on the DC Vertigo graphic novel SWEET TOOTH (sadly, not based on the killer clown from TWISTED METAL) by Jeff Lemire, which is a post-apocalyptic story about human-animal hybrids, described as "MAD MAX meets BAMBI". Here's the official synopsis:
Sweet Tooth follows the adventures of Gus — part deer, part boy — who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.
The show will star Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Adeel Akhtar, Will Forte, and James Brolin as the voice of the narrator.
Anyway, sounds pretty cool to me! No word on whether this will be live-action, animated, or something in-between (and with Netflix, it could really go either way), but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for this!
Meanwhile, no release or start date announced as of yet, but we'll keep you posted once things become official.
So what do you guys think? Fans of the comic? If so, would you rather it be animated or live-action? Either way, sound off below!
