So this is interesting. According to Deadline, Netflix – hot off the success of their other violent and sexy fantasy show, THE WITCHER – is developing a new CONAN THE BARBARIAN streaming series! This move will, apparently, "fit into Netflix’s strategy of acquiring globally recognizable IP to build an universe of films and TV series, including Roald Dahl’s novels, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA books and comics publisher Millarworld."
This of course wouldn't be the first time the the iconic character – hailing from the classic pulp novels written by author Robert E. Howard – has been adapted to the screen, including twice on film with the two Schwarzenegger-led CONAN films in the 80's, and the 2011 Jason Momoa remake, and even on television with CONAN THE ADVENTURER starring Ralf Möller.
Unfortunately, that's all that is known for now, as directors, writers, and showrunners are still being sought. But we'll keep you updated if any details come through!
So what do you guys think? Fans of CONAN? If so, looking forward to a new Netflix show? Either way, sound off below!
