Looks like Netflix is keeping the star-studded horror-thrillers coming ala BIRD BOX as today we have word that the streaming giant has acquired the rights director Antonio Campos' midwestern gothic flick THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME. The movie is about a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher and a corrupt local sheriff and is an adaptation of Donald Ray Pollock’s 2011 novel by the same name.
But now let's talk about the cast the movie has lined up. So far it includes the likes of such Hollywood heavy-hitters such as Chris Evans (AVENGERS INFINITY WAR, SNOWPIERCER), Tom Holland (THE IMPOSSIBLE, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR), Robert Pattinson (THE LIGHTHOUSE, COSMOPOLIS), Bill Skarsgard (STEPHEN KING'S IT, IT: CHAPTER TWO), Eliza Scanlen (SHARP OBJECTS), Mia Wasikowska (STOKER, ALICE IN WONDERLAND), and some dude named Gabriel Ebert. Ebert aside, those are some HUGE names. Bring it on, Netflix!
Here’s the synopsis via Netflix:
In a place called Knockemstiff, Ohio, a forgotten backwoods of this country, where a storm of faith, violence and redemption is brewing. Out of desperation to save his dying wife, Willard Russell turns to prayer which succumbs to sacrifice. This sets protagonist Arvin, Willard’s son (Holland), on his path from bullied kid to a man who knows when to take action. “The Devil All the Time” involves a nefarious cast of characters that is told across two decades.
Campos will direct the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Paulo Campos based on Donald Ray Pollock’s 2011 novel by the same name. Randall Poster, Jake Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker, and Max Born are producing the movie and Annie Marter and Jacob Jaffke will serve as executive producers. Principal photography on THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME is set to begin next month in Alabama. Are you excited? Let us know below!
