Not that it’s too shocking but according to Sharon Waxman over at “The Wrap”, Sacha Baron Cohen’s upcoming film chronicling his random assaults on regular people as flamboyantly gay fashionista Bruno has been given an initial NC-17 rating. According to Waxman, “Among the objectionable scenes is one in which Bruno – a gay Austrian fashionista played by Baron Cohen – appears to have anal sex with a man on camera. In another, the actor goes on a hunting trip and sneaks naked into the tent of one of the fellow hunters, an unsuspecting non-actor.” So a guy has butt sex on camera with another guy and suddenly it’s NC-17? Pfft! Of course, Cohen has to deliver an R-rated film or Universal won’t release it so it’s likely cuts will be made to appease the apparent butt sex hating MPAA. Which isn’t a total loss because Bruno in all his astoundingly gay glory will likely be unleashed uncensored on DVD at some point. The film is currently slated for release July 10th.
