Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, got into acting on a lark, appearing alongside her father and her best friend Harley Quinn Smith in Kevin Smith's TUSK. That appearance spun off into a lead role in Smith's upcoming film YOGA HOSERS, and now the young Depp is pursuing acting as a career… and landing a role as Natalie Portman's sister sure is an impressive accomplishment for a beginner.
Portman and Depp play siblings in PLANETARIUM, directed by Rebecca Zlotowski (seen above with Portman). The film follows
the journey of sisters who are believed to possess the supernatural ability to connect with ghosts. They cross paths with a visionary French producer while performing in Paris.
The actresses are pictured together in the first official promotional image for the film, and the picture makes it obvious why these two would be paired as sisters. There certainly is a resemblance. Depp could have joined Keira Knightley as one of Portman's decoys in STAR WARS: EPISODE I – THE PHANTOM MENACE, if not for the fact that Depp wasn't even born until a week after THE PHANTOM MENACE was released.
PLANETARIUM is rumored to be making its premiere at this May's Cannes Film Festival.
