Nat Wolff gains God-like powers in trailer for André Øvredal’s Mortal

TROLLHUNTER / THE AUTOPSY OF JANE DOE director André Øvredal's SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK only just reached theatres a few months ago, and now he has another film set to come out in Norway next month. Written by Øvredal and Norman Lesperance, this one is a "fantasy adventure" called MORTAL, and is said to be "based on ancient Norwegian mythology."

MORTAL stars Nat Wolff of Adam Wingard's DEATH NOTE as

a young man discovering he has God-like powers.

Wolff is joined in the cast by Priyanka Bose, Arthur Hakalahti, Iben Akerlie, Ravdeep Singh Bajwa, and Per Egil Aske.

A trailer for MORTAL can be seen below, and since it's for the film's Norwegian release it doesn't offer much help to English-speakers when the characters aren't speaking their language. But since the young man who gains God-like powers is an American, the characters do start speaking English after a few seconds.

The movie looks pretty cool to me, and has bigger special effects and a larger scope than I was expecting to see.

I'll be watching for a U.S. release date for this one.
