Back in the '70s, SCOOBY-DOO had a plethora of guest stars, including the Mamas and the Papas, The Harlem Globetrotters, and even Batman and Robin! That continues in the present day wtih the trailer of the upcoming straight-to-VOD/DVD animated feature HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SCOOBY DOO! starring the one-and-only Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, played by Cassandra Peterson! Here's the official synopsis:
With fake monsters and candy galore, Halloween is heaven for these hungry foodies going door-to-door. But this year, their sweet holiday turns sour when the neighborhood pumpkin patch is infected by toxic ooze, creating high-flying jack-o-lanterns, and a king-sized pumpkin leader squashing everything in its path. It’s up to Scooby-Doo and the gang as they team up with their pals, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, to solve this mystery of gigantic proportions and save Crystal Cove!
I personally think Elvira would've been enough, but I suppose she's a bit more for older audiences, thus the need to cram in Bill Nye (who isn't exactly a spring chicken) and Scarecrow from BATMAN (who I guess has a previous history with them?) I also prefer my SCOOBY-DOO mysteries to not be actually supernatural, but it looks like it could be fun for kids I suppose.
Meanwhile, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, SCOOBY-DOO has no official release date as of yet, but should be out sometime later this year.
So what do you guys think? Any fans of SCOOBY-DOO? If so, what do you think of this? Either way, sound off below!
