Ethan Suplee shares his incredible 2020 weight-loss transformation

When Ethan Suplee was 24 years old, he weighed over 500 pounds, and although he had no trouble finding work with roles in Mallrats, American History X, Boy Meets World, My Name is Earl, and more, he knew that something had to change. After years of drifting from diet to diet, Suplee switched to an exercise program with a focus on strength training and a healthy eating plan, which is when everything finally clicked. It's no secret that Suplee has been become absolutely jacked in recent years, but the actor took to Instagram today in order to commemorate reaching a year-long goal.

"Last year I set a goal of having visible abs, here’s where I got to," Suplee wrote on Instagram. "This year I would like visible obliques. It’s going to be a wonderfully tough year." Check out the photo below!

In an interview with Men's Health, Ethan Suplee said the photos have not been retouched. "The shadows haven't been enhanced," Suplee said. "There's loose skin. There are scars. This is who I am. I'm at my absolute pinnacle. I spent 35, 40 years without taking my shirt off in public." Suplee achieved the look with help of his trainer, International Federation of Bodybuilding Pro Jared Feather, but it's not a look that he plans on taking further. "I was wondering if we could go further—eight percent or seven percent body fat," Suplee said. "But then I thought about all the wacky diets I've done over the years and realized that I can't keep doing this. Do I want to want to walk around looking like I look in those pictures? Honestly, I'm not sure I have what it takes." Suplee added, "My instinct, as someone who has been trying to lose weight for so long, is that I want my numbers—the number on the scale, my body fat percentage—to go down. I'm trying now to learn to live in, and be happy with, the maintenance period." Healthy living is something that each of us tackles in our own way, and my hat is off to Ethan Suplee for making and maintaining such big changes. Way to go, man!
