Earlier this week, we covered the 1981 classic My Bloody Valentine in an episode of our video series Real Slashers. As the build-up to Valentine’s Day continues, we’re now looking at the 2009 remake My Bloody Valentine 3D (watch it HERE) with an episode of the series Deconstructing… You can check it out in the embed above!
Directed by Patrick Lussier from a screenplay by Todd Farmer and Zane Smith, My Bloody Valentine 3D has the following synopsis:
Ten years ago, an inexperienced coal miner named Tom Hanniger caused an accident that killed five men and put a sixth, Harry Warden, into a coma. A year later, on Valentine’s Day, Harry woke up and murdered 22 people with a pickaxe before dying. Now Tom has returned home, still haunted by the past. And something else is back in Harmony: a pickaxe-wielding killer in a miner’s mask, who may be the ghost of Harry, come to claim Tom and his friends.
The film stars Jensen Ackles, Jaime King, Kerr Smith, Edi Gathegi, Betsy Rue, Megan Boone, Tom Atkins, Kevin Tighe, Selene Luna, Todd Farmer, Bingo O’Malley, and Richard John Walters.
Deconstructing… is a monthly web series in which
we choose one of your favorite horror movies and take it apart piece by piece (lovingly, of course) to see what makes it a classic. Each episode examines the origins, legacy and mysteries behind our beloved genre’s most iconic titles… but we play fast and loose with the rules, so expect the unexpected!
The show is Written, Edited, and Narrated by Gregory Burkart, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
