Chris Lowell is joining Elsie Fisher (Castle Rock) and Amiah Miller (War for the Planet of the Apes) in director Damon Thomas's My Best Friend's Exorcism, an adaptation of a novel by Grady Hendrix (buy it HERE).
Scripted by Jenna Lamia, the film will center on
Abby and Gretchen, two best friends and sophomores in high school. Their friendship is tested when an evening of skinny-dipping goes wrong, and Gretchen begins to act differently and followed by bizarre occurrences. After some investigating, Abby begins to horrifyingly suspect that her friend may be possessed by a demon force.
Lowell is taking on the role of a character described as a "muscly meathead", "who along with his brother performs a 'Faith and Fitness' at the teens' parochial school. He sees that Gretchen is possessed and in need of an exorcism." The actor's previous credits include Veronica Mars, Private Practice, GLOW, and Promising Young Woman.
Cathy Ang and Rachel Ogechi Kanu are also in the cast.
Currently filming in Atlanta for Endeavor Content and Amazon Studios, My Best Friend's Exorcism is being produced by The Gotham Group, Quirk Productions, and Freaky / Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon.
