The X-Files is returning for a six episode new season starting in January, and Fox is aiming to keep potential viewers hyped for the next three months.
A new promo has been released online that doesn't feature any new footage from the upcoming episodes. but does have audio clips from the show playing over some very cool animated imagery. It's less a look ahead than it is a 30 second celebration of The X-Files as a whole.
The new season of The X-Files will star David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, William B. Davis, Mitch Pileggi, Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Joel McHale, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby, and Kumail Nanjiani.
Things kick off on Sunday, January 24, when Fox will air an episode entitled "My Struggle", which
centers on Mulder (Duchovny) and Scully (Anderson) investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.
The second episode will then air on the following night, establishing the season's regular time slot of Mondays at 8pm.
