Mr. Selfridge actress Jessica Madsen joins Maury and Bustillo’s Leatherface

Just yesterday we brought you the news that Sam Coleman had joined the cast of Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo's upcoming LEATHERFACE, joining the previously announced Sam Strike, James Bloor, Angela Bettis, and Stephen Dorff for Millennium Films’ prequel to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, and now The Wrap has learned that "Mr. Selfridge" actress Jessica Madsen has signed on for the bloody fun.

Maury and Bustillo, the French filmmakers behind cult hit INSIDE, are directing the horror movie, which was written by Seth M. Sherwood.

The film, which explores Leatherface’s early years in the 1970s, will be presented as a mystery of sorts about three teenage psychopaths, one of whom grows up to be the chainsaw-wielding maniac.

In this prequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a young nurse is kidnapped by a group of violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.

Strike and Bloor will play budding young psychopaths, while Madsen will play an escaped mental patient.

Carl Mazzocone is producing LEATHERFACE with Christa Campbell and Lati Grobman after they successfully resurrected the TEXAS CHAINSAW franchise in 2013. Les Weldon is also a producer on the project, which is being executive produced by Millennium’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson, Mark Gill and Beth Bruckner O’Brien.
