Truth be told, I have yet to sit down and get to binge-watching AT&T Audience Network's Stephen King series MR. MERCEDES starring Brendan Gleeson and Harry Treadaway. It's high on my must-watch TV list and I plan to get to it as soon as possible. I'd better get to it sooner rather than later as we already know that the series has been renewed for Season 3.
And today we have word via Production Weekly over on Instagram that Season 3 of MR. MERCEDES (based on FINDERS KEEPERS by Stephen King) returns to Charleston, SC next month to begin filming. They also note that David E. Kelley will return as showrunner, alongside director Jack Bender. Just like the first and second season, the third season has been confirmed to run 10-episodes and is all set to premiere later this year.
Here's the synopsis for Finders Keepers via Amazon:
“Wake up, genius.” So announces deranged fan Morris Bellamy to iconic author John Rothstein, who once created the famous character Jimmy Gold and hasn’t released anything since. Morris is livid, not just because his favorite writer has stopped publishing, but because Jimmy Gold ended up as a sellout. Morris kills his idol and empties his safe of cash, but the real haul is a collection of notebooks containing John Rothstein’s unpublished work…including at least one more Jimmy Gold novel. Morris hides everything away before being locked up for another horrific crime. But upon Morris’s release thirty-five years later, he’s about to discover that teenager Pete Saubers has already found the stolen treasure—and no one but former police detective Bill Hodges, along with his trusted associates Holly Gibney and Jerome Robinson, stands in the way of his vengeance…
David E. Kelley will return to oversee the writer’s room with Jack Bender directing. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will return as executive producers along with Tom Lesinski, Jenna Santoianni, Shane Elrod, and Kate Regan. Once again for the cheap seats, production on the new batch of 10 one-hour episodes is scheduled to begin next month in Charleston, South Carolina with the premiere slated for later in the year. Until then, you can snag the first season on DVD over on Amazon RIGHT HERE. And if you haven't read Stephen King's FINDERS KEEPERS yet, snag a copy HERE.
