Based on Patrick Ness’ novel of the same name, A MONSTER CALLS tells the story of a boy, haunted by the tree that lives outside of his house- as the tree comes to life every night in the form of a monster that tells him scary stories. The unlikely bond that forms between them gives the story a unique twist, as the monster’s dark tales soon become a way of helping the boy cope with some of life’s harsh truths including his mother’s declining health and school bullies.
