Justice League: Zack Snyder reveals first look at Green Lantern John Stewart

Although Zack Snyder's Justice League included just about everything that Snyder had originally shot for the superhero epic, there were a few elements that the director was forced to cut out. Snyder had shot a scene with Wayne T. Carr playing John Stewart/Green Lantern, but when Warner Bros. caught wind of it, they asked him to remove it as they didn't want anything to conflict with their future plans for the character. "We did have a Green Lantern scene in the movie that the studio asked me to take out that I did also shoot here in the driveway with an amazing actor who was going to play John Stewart," Snyder said.

John Stewart would have appeared in the epilogue of Justice League, but the character wound up being replaced by Martian Manhunter (Harry Lennix) in the final film. We've seen several behind-the-scene images of the sequence being shot, but as Wayne T. Carr was decked out in a motion-capture suit, we weren't able to see him properly suited up…until now…sort of. During an online Q&A, Zack Snyder shared an image of Carr as Green Lantern on his phone, and while the quality isn't great unfortunately, you can get a rough idea.

Even after the release of Zack Snyder's Justice League, the director hasn't stopped sharing previously unseen tidbits from the movie, so I'm sure at some point…we might just get to see Wayne T. Carr's Green Lantern with a few more pixels. Zack Snyder's Justice League is currently streaming on HBO Max, and Snyder's latest film, Army of the Dead, is now playing in select theaters and will hit Netflix on May 21st.
