Thanks to Entertainment Weekly's ongoing coverage of ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY this week, we've been finding more and more out about the upcoming film as well getting a look at a sizable handful of new photos. One of the more interesting tidbits was the long due confirmation that Darth Vader himself will appear in the film and that James Earl Jones will be back to supply Vader's distinctive voice. The Dark Lord won't be the only character from the original trilogy to play a part in ROGUE ONE, although he's arguably the biggest, as Mon Mothma will also be featured, but this time, she'll have a "significantly larger" role than her appearance in RETURN OF THE JEDI.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy spilled a few details about Mothma's role in the film to EW:

We actually see quite a bit of her. The Rebel alliance is in disarray. Pretty panicked. Up against it. And she is trying the best she can to provide the leadership, in amongst a wide variety of Rebel soldiers that have very differing opinions as to what to do.

Genevieve O’Reilly first played Mon Mothma in REVENGE OF THE SITH, although many of her scenes were cut from the finished film, and ROGUE ONE director Gareth Edwards was happy to bring her back to reprise the role. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY is set for a December 16, 2016 release.
