Watch our Oscar “Best Picture” Retrospective for 1993

In this new series we take a look at the Oscar nominations of years past, examining the flicks that were nominated, as well as the pic we feel got snubbed among all the other candidates. Love ’em or hate ’em, the Oscars usually highlight the best films from each year (although there are plenty that get overlooked) and it’s always fun to look back and see what was popular for any given year and to contemplate their legacy in retrospect. This time out we take a look at the 1993 Academy Awards, which featured Martin Brest‘s SCENT OF A WOMAN with Al Pacino and Chris O’Donnell, James Ivory‘s HOWARD’S END with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson, Rob Reiner‘s A FEW GOOD MEN with Tom Cruise and Demi Moore, THE CRYING GAME from Neil Jordan and starring Stephen Rea and Jaye Davidson and finally, Clint Eastwood‘s UNFORGIVEN with Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman.
