Vin Diesel says Samuel L. Jackson will be back for XXX 3

In a recent Facebook post, Vin Diesel welcomed Samuel L. Jackson back to the "Xander Zone," seemingly confirming that the actor will return as NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons in the planned third installment in the XXX franchise. Jackson also reprised his role from the original movie in the 2005 sequel XXX: STATE OF THE UNION, which had Ice Cube filling in for Diesel.

The most recent (as far as we know, anyway) draft of the XXX 3 script was penned by TERMINATOR SALVATION and THE GAME scribes John Brancato and Michael Ferris, and although back in August Diesel said the film would head into production this month, there's been no word on who will direct. But it appears there has been at least some movement on the long-in-development project, so maybe there will be an announcement of sorts in the near future.
