Starting today, 360-degree videos have hit Facebook. This means that when the video is playing, you can choose what angle you want to see it from. On the web you can do this by dragging around the video with your cursor, and on mobile devices you do it by dragging with your finger — or even just by turning your device. You’ll be able to hold up your phone and the 360 video will follow you as you turn, looking around, to experience things from all over the world like never before. As you can imagine, Star Wars is one of the first pages to capitalize on this with a look at the junk planet of Jakku.

If you’re using Facebook on the web or on Android, you should be able to see 360 videos in the News Feed soon. For those of you on iOS, it'll be coming within the next few months. In regards to STAR WARS, I imagine we may see a few more videos exploring other planets once the film hits theaters. As always, J.J. Abrams and Co. are playing things very close to their chest, so this 360 video doesn't reveal much we don't already know. Good for them!
STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
