The saga comes to an end with final Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Here we go, folks. The final trailer for STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER just dropped during ESPN's Monday Night Football. Not only will the J.J. Abrams directed film bring the Sequel Trilogy to a close, but it will also serve as a culmination to the entire nine-film franchise. It remains to be seen whether or not Abrams has pulled off that lofty goal, but the director recently said that the film "is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible. So if years from now, someone’s watching these movies, all nine of them, they’re watching a story that is as cohesive as possible." That said, Abrams also admitted that "endings are the thing that scare me the most." You and me both.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell, Billie Lourd, Richard E. Grant, and Joonas Suotamo, in addition to franchise veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, and Ian McDiarmid.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will hit theaters on December 20, 2019.
