The poster for season four of The Walking Dead teases epic zombie battles

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It is becoming a 4th of July tradition for THE WALKING DEAD to have marathons of prior seasons and this year will be no different. The added bonus this year is that all three seasons of the show will be airing over the course of the holiday along with special black and white episodes for the entire first season of the show.

The black and white pilot episode airing was the idea of show creator Frank Darabont who did the same thing with his great movie THE MIST. THE WALKING DEAD works well in black and white and seeing them keep this tradition alive is awesome. The marathon will be hosted by Kevin Smith who will be filming behind the scenes sneak peeks from the set of season four in Georgia.

As another treat, the badass season four poster has been revealed in advance of Comic Con. it features Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus looking worn out as Rick and Darryl. Also on the poster are looks at Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Tyreese (Chad Coleman) kicking zombie ass with a hammer and a horse. Noticeably absent from the poster is any look at The Governor (David Morrissey).

THE WALKING DEAD premieres season four this October. For the marathon this week, Season 1 airs back to back in color and black and white on July 4th, season 2 on July 5th and season 3 on July 6th and 7th. Click the poster above for a bigger version.
