Lots of new dinosaurs run rampant in the full trailer for Jurassic World

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Here it is, people! The first full trailer for JURASSIC WORLD is now online and boy does it look amazing. Everything is back and enhanced for the 21st century. The vehicles are more futuristic, the park has more people in it, and the creatures look more deadly than ever. Colin Trevorrow may have just proven himself a worthy successor to Steven Spielberg's original films.

Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley join the team as producers.

My concern at the beginning of the trailer is just how much CGI there is in the wide shots of the park and the larger dinosaurs, but by the end of the trailer, I was completely bought into the new take on the monstrous creatures.  Bryce Dallas Howard looks to be in the Richard Attenborough role while Chris Pratt is the equivalent of Sam Neill.  From this trailer, it does feel like a sequel to JURASSIC PARK and a reboot at the same time.  But, the ante is definitely up with the new hybrid dinosaurs.  How can we fight a foe we have no research on?

JURASSIC WORLD has a lot to live up to, but this teaser definitely shows a Spielbergian approach to making an action movie with spectacle and human characters.  Here's hoping the finished product lives up to the hype.  JURASSIC WORLD opens on June 12, 2015.
