The first reactions to STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI were full of overwhelmingly positive praise, with some even saying that it was the best film in the franchise since THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Certainly a bold claim, but now that the film has officially been released, it seems that audiences don't quite agree with it. In fact, according to the Rotten Tomatoes audience score, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is currently sitting as the lowest rated installment of the entire STAR WARS saga.
That's three percent lower than STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE and one percent lower than STAR WARS: ATTACK OF THE CLONES. However, if you choose to include STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS among the live-action films, you can rest easy knowing that audiences didn't seem to hate THE LAST JEDI quite as much as the 2008 animated feature. That's quite a shocking difference from the positive reaction seen on the Tomatometer, but, as always, your opinion is really the only one that matters at the end of the day. As I haven't seen THE LAST JEDI for myself just yet, I can't comment on why the film appears to be so incredibly divisive amongst fans, so I'll leave that up to you fine folks.
Does STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI actually deserve such a poor audience score?
