The final trailer for X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST has arrived and it’s an action-heavy, epic showcase for the latest entry in the X-franchise, which brings back director Bryan Singer (X-MEN, X2) and unites the cast of the original trilogy and X-MEN FIRST CLASS. The latest “inbetwequal” finally delivers the long-awaited cinematic debut of the famed Sentinel’s and features a massive cast, including Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Shawn Ashmore, Halle Berry, Evan Peters, Peter Dinklage, Anna Paquin, Lucas Till, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Bingbing Fan, Omar Sy, and Kelsey Grammer.
Take a look:
Here’s the synopsis:
The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past – to save our future.
Pretty exciting trailer and definitely one to get the blood pumping for some mutant action. The Sentinel’s look solid and the scope of the film, for the first time in the entirety of the franchise, feels right. Utilizing the aspects of time travel/alternate realities that is so common in the comics, this looks to me like the first X-MEN film that could fully live up to its potential (and that’s not to discount those who hold X2 in such high regard). Shit, even Quicksilver looks better in this trailer, which may ease the tension a bit on the little speedster. Overall, this is definitely stacking up as THE movie to see this summer.
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
