Star Trek: Discovery season four trailer brings new hope and new threats

Although I certainly never disliked Star Trek: Discovery, the third season of the series definitely felt like a big improvement in a lot of ways, which has me all the more pumped for the fourth season. As today is First Contact Day, the first trailer for the aforementioned fourth season has dropped and gives us a peek into what sort of adventure the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery will be embarking upon. Check it out below!

You'll notice that the crew have received yet another uniform upgrade over their season three finale duds, and anything that adds another splash of colour is just fine in my books. According to the official synopsis, the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery will find "Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery facing a threat unlike any they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all." The teaser doesn't give a specific release date for the fourth season, but it seems that Star Trek: Discovery will be returning later this year. This isn't the only exciting Star Trek news to drop today, as we also got a teaser for the second season of Star Trek: Picard that revealed the return of an iconic character from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
