Fresh off her impressive starring role in READY OR NOT, it would seem that Samara Weaving is ready to join the G.I. JOE franchise. The actress is set to join Henry Golding (CRAZY RICH ASIANS) in SNAKE EYES, a G.I. JOE spin-off which will focus on the deadly ninja commando.

Samara Weaving is slated to play Scarlett, the red-haired counter-intelligence officer who has a unique bond with Snake Eyes. The character was previously played by Rachel Nichols (Titans) in G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA. In addition to Weaving and Golding, SNAKE EYES is also slated to star Andre Koji (Warrior) as Storm Shadow, a fellow ninja is is both blood brother and archenemy to Snake Eyes, Iko Uwais (THE RAID) as Hard Master, a tough as nails teacher who instructs Snake Eyes and also happens to be a skilled swordmaster, and Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist) as the evil agent known as the Baroness. SNAKE EYES is said to follow the titular character as he seeks revenge for the death of his father by joining a ninja clan and finding acceptance in the process. The spin-off is slated to be helmed by Robert Schwentke (RED) and scripted by Evan Spiliotopoulos (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) with production soon expected to kick off in Vancouver and Tokyo.

Samara Weaving was recently seen at the Toronto International Film Festival in GUNS AKIMBO opposite Daniel Radcliffe, and on August 21, 2020, she'll be playing the role of Thea Preston, the daughter of William "Bill" S. Preston, Esq (Alex Winter) in BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC.
