Well, it didn't take long for the first SUICIDE SQUAD casting rumors to surface online. The upcoming David Ayer film was one of the many DC comic book movies announced earlier today, and THR is reporting there are already several actors Warner Bros. is interested in for the project.
According to the site, Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie are all fielding offers for lead roles in SUICIDE SQUAD. THR says Warner Bros. is also pursuing Ryan Gosling for a role in the film, but they may have to move fast, because apparently Marvel is also eyeing Gosling for Scott Derrickson's DOCTOR STRANGE, making him the seventh actor who might be in the running to play the sorcerer supreme.
There aren't any details on what roles Gosling, Smith, Hardy and Robbie might be up for, and it hasn't been revealed yet which Suicide Squad members from the comic will be used for the movie. THR says SUICIDE SQUAD is "still in early development and the script is being worked on," so even if there was word on which characters will likely be featured, it doesn't mean they'll definitely end up appearing in the film. Which Suicide Squad characters do you think would be a good fit for Will Smith, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie?
David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
