Prodigal Son, cancelled

Unfortunate news if you're a fan of Fox's Prodigal Son, as it has been announced that the network has cancelled the series after two seasons. Created by Chris Fedak & Sam Sklaver, Prodigal Son followed Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne), a "criminal profiler with a rare talent for getting inside the minds of killers. He learned how they think because his father, Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen), was a notorious serial killer known as 'The Surgeon.' Now he’s using his twisted genius to help the NYPD solve their most puzzling murders."

According to THR, the network was a big fan of Prodigal Son,  but unfortunately, the series didn't seem to catch on with viewers and ratings have been slowly dwindling since its debut in 2019. In addition to Tom Payne and Michael Sheen, Prodigal Son also starred Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, and Aurora Perrineau. Catherine Zeta Jones also joined the cast this past season as Dr. Vivian Capsaw, the resident MD at the Claremont Psychiatric Hospital where Dr. Martin Whitly aka The Surgeon resides. The series was a co-production between Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment, and it's possible that Warner Bros. could shop the show elsewhere.

Any Prodigal Son fans out there saddened to see the series come to a close?
