Patty Jenkins already has clear plans for Wonder Woman 3

We're still a good year and change away from the release of WONDER WOMAN 1984, but director Patty Jenkins is already looking to the future. It's still far too early to begin theorizing about what a third WONDER WOMAN film will bring, but assuming that the upcoming sequel is a success, and there's little reason to believe that it won't be, Warner Bros. will likely get the ball rolling on WONDER WOMAN 3 soon afterwards.

It's still up in the air whether or not Patty Jenkins would return to write and direct the third film, but given the efforts which Warner Bros. went to in order to get her back for WONDER WOMAN 1984, I'd imagine that the gig is hers should she want it. While speaking with Vanity Fair recently, Jenkins said that she already has a pretty clear idea of where the third installment will go.

I have pretty clear plans for Wonder Woman 3. Whether I [direct] it or not, I see how her arc should end in my incarnation of Wonder Woman. I have great passion for that.

Given that the franchise lept forward from the era of World War I to the 1980s for the sequel, it's hard to say where the third film would land. Could it stay in the 80s-90s? Lead into the events of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE? Or perhaps move into a post-JUSTICE LEAGUE world? Before we get the answers to those questions, we still have WONDER WOMAN 1984 over the horizon as it's set to hit theaters on June 5, 2020.
