Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney joining Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2

Unless you've stripped it from your memory you may recall that Whoopi Goldberg appeared in TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES as April O'Neil's supervisor at Channel 6 Eyewitness News, and now the sequel is looking to add another award collecting actress to its ranks. THR reports that Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney has joined the cast of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2. The specifics of her role are being kept under wraps so let the guessing game begin! Krang? It's probably Krang.

The sequel is being helmed by EARTH TO ECHO's David Green from a script by Josh Applebaum and André Nemec. Production of TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES 2 is underway in New York and just this morning we got our first look at Stephen Amell as the vigilante Casey Jones; also Megan Fox was dressed in school-girl garb for some reason during a scene shot at Grand Central.

I've got no idea what's going on here; is April O' Neil going undercover? Is she still not getting any respect at Channel Six? Is she…I don't really care enough to think of a third option. Laura Linney will be joining Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell, Alessandra Ambrosio, Tyler Perry, and Brian Tee who has replaced Tohoru Masamune in the role of Shredder.
