Fox has announced release dates for several of their upcoming films, including Channing Tatum's GAMBIT movie. Penned by ROBOCOP (the reboot) screenwriter Josh Zetumer, the X-Men spinoff will be in theaters on October 7, 2016, and it will open against Ben Affleck's LIVE BY NIGHT and the live-action MONSTER HIGH movie. Fox has also moved the planned sequel to Josh Trank's THE FANTASTIC FOUR from July 14, 2017 to June 2, 2017, and Matt Reeves' untitled DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES sequel has been pushed back from July 29, 2016 to July 14, 2017.
Back in September Justin Kurzel's (MACBETH, SNOWTOWN) ASSASSIN'S CREED adaptation starring Michael Fassbender was removed from Fox's 2015 calendar, and the studio has announced the film will now open on December 21, 2016.
As for new Fox movies that don't involve superheroes or apes, Jake Szymanski's MIKE & DAVE NEED WEDDING DATES will hit theaters on July 29, 2016, Hugh Jackman's P.T. Barnum biopic THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ON EARTH is set to open on Christmas Day 2016, and Charlie Hunnam and Rosamund Pike's romantic drama THE MOUNTAIN BETWEEN US will be released on February 10, 2017.
