Streaming service Netflix has already changed the landscape as far as TV shows are concerned and it looks like that's eventually going to follow suit for films. Having already acquired Cary Fukunaga's BEASTS OF NO NATION starring Idris Elba, and a number of upcoming Adam Sandler films, Netflix has now bought distribution rights for Brad Pitt's next film, WAR MACHINE.
WAR MACHINE will be a satirical comedy inspired by the book "The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America’s War In Afghanistan", in which Brad Pitt will play a military general. The film will be directed and scripted by David Michod, who more recently helmed THE ROVER and ANIMAL KINGDOM.

A Brad Pitt vehicle is nothing to scoff at but it's only a matter of time before Netflix presents something MAJOR on their streaming service, and you can bet that every movie studio will be taking note.
