According to Variety, Amazon Studios is currently in final negotiations to acquire WITHOUT REMORSE from Paramount Pictures. Based on the novel by Tom Clancy, the thriller stars Michael B. Jordan as U.S. Navy SEAL John Clark, who has been described as Jack Ryan's dark side.

Should the deal close, this wouldn't be the first time that Paramount has sold some of its titles to a streaming service, as they have previously moved both THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 and THE LOVEBIRDS to Netflix. The move to Amazon does make sense, especially as the streaming service is home to the Jack Ryan series starring John Krasinski. Directed by Stefano Sollima (SICARIO: DAY OF THE SOLDADO) and written by Taylor Sheridan (WIND RIVER), the film will serve as something of an origin story for how John Clark came to work for the CIA. As a Navy SEAL, Clark goes on the path to avenge his wife's murder only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy. In addition to Jordan, WITHOUT REMORSE also stars Jamie Bell (ROCKETMAN), Jodie Turner-Scott (Nightflyers), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things) Jack Kesy (DEADPOOL 2), Cam Gigandet (TWILIGHT), Luke Mitchell (Blindspot), and Jacob Scipio (As the Bell Rings), and Todd Lasance (Spartacus).

It's not known just when Amazon would debut WITHOUT REMORSE, but Paramount Pictures shifted the film from its previous October 2, 2020 release to February 21, 2021 just last month. As Amazon doesn't have to worry about theaters, it's possible that the film could launch on its original date after all.
