When the end credits of 22 JUMP STREET rolled, I'm sure most of us wondered how in the hell they could do a sequel following that madness. I mean, would they just roll with whatever plot was already stated, or do their own thing? It's been rumored for a while now that the Jump Street team might meet the Men in Black. Last month we heard that this was the real deal, and now we have confirmation straight from Sony at CinemaCon; MIB 23 is a go!
Admittedly, I think the title is pretty clever, having worked in the JUMP STREET progression and MIB. As of now, original JUMP STREET directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord are staying on as producers. Last we heard, James Bobin (ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, MUPPETS MOST WANTED) was set to direct. I think we can expect Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum to return, but Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones seems unlikely. Still, if Sony were to rope them in, I'd say they have a crossover that most audiences are willing to see! Hell, I was on board with the idea since day one!
