Massive new banner for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies comes online

As they did for the first two entries in the trilogy, New Line and MGM have revealed a massive banner poster for THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES. These banners are beautifully designed and serve as a panoramic look at the characters and events in the film. Not to be outdone for the final entry in his Middle-Earth series, Peter Jackson and company have delivered a tease of what we can expect in the series capper.

Viewed from left to right, this banner may contain some spoilery images for those unfamiliar with the book but it also teases some of the additional material added by Jackson and Fran Walsh to the screenplay for THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES to try and pad it for three films. See if you spot Christopher Lee as Saruman, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, and Hugo Weaving as Elrond, characters last seen in AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY who pop up again to remind us that these films are connected to THE LORD OF THE RINGS.

Personally, I have been a bit underwhelmed by THE HOBBIT trilogy, especially Peter Jackson‘s overuse of CGI. THE HOBBIT is the equivalent of the Prequel Trilogy for STAR WARS fans, but any journey to Middle-Earth is one I am willing to take. Check out the full banner below by clicking on it for a larger version. We also have it broken into segments for your viewing pleasure.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES opens everywhere on December 12, 2014.
