Marvel Studios developing movies starring Ms. Marvel, Blade, The Runaways and Iron Fist

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Despite Kevin Feige claiming the contrary, a recent conference call regarding Robert Downey Jr and his supposed renegotiations in light of IRON MAN 3’s performance at the box office has brought to light Marvel Studio’s plans post Phase 2. Not only is The Hollywood Reporter claiming that there are Black Panther and Doctor Strange movies being developed, there are several other heroes and teams being eyed for the big screen.

While nothing is official with Marvel until a trailer is released, sources claim they have a group of writers tasked with developing scripts and outlines to see if certain heroes would be viable for the big screen. Right now, those heroes include Ms. Marvel, Iron Fist, and The Runaways. All three projects would be for lesser known heroes which is why there is also a reboot of BLADE being considered as well as spin-offs for Falcon (Anthony Mackie in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER) and IRON MAN’s Don Cheadle as War Machine.

There is no mention of whether or not Daredevil, Ghost Rider, or Punisher are figuring into plans, but with Robert Downey Jr. possible delegated to supporting roles after THE AVENGERS 2, someone will need to step up as the big star if we are to continue to get the cinematic output Disney has been planning for.

In the meantime, we can focus on what we do know is coming: THOR: THE DARK WORLD hits November 8, 2013, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER on April 4, 2014, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY on August 1, 2014, THE AVENGERS 2 on May 1, 2015, and ANT-MAN on November 5, 2015.
