Lou Ferrigno says a Hulk movie is coming after The Avengers: Age of Ultron

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While Lou Ferrigno will forever hold a place in the annals of Marvel history for bringing the Hulk to life, he is far from a reputable source when it comes to the future of the character on the big screen. But, having voiced the big green guy in THE AVENGERS and likely in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, he may know a little something.

In a recent interview with Flicks and the City, Ferrigno claims to know that Mark Ruffalo and Hulk will be getting a solo adventure, sooner than we thought. When asked about the long rumored Hulk solo movie, here is what he had to say (skip to the 2 minute mark for the start of the quote).

Now, it seems pretty obvious that any Hulk solo movie would have to come after THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, so this isn’t revolutionary news, but Ferrigno speaks with such confidence it is hard to write it off as wishful thinking. I would be inclined to think Ruffalo getting a solo movie as Hulk wouldn’t not happen until 2016 at the earliest, but likely not until 2018. With rumored films for THE UNHUMANS, DOCTOR STRANGE, BLACK PANTHER, and sequels to THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA, and the third AVENGERS film all taking precedence, there just isn’t room in the current two films a year format for a Hulk feature. It doesn’t mean it won’t happen, but with Kevin Feige saying that a solo Hulk movie wasn’t in the near future, we may have a longer wait than Lou Ferrigno thinks.

THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON hits theaters May 1, 2015.
