Looks like Creed is going to fight Ivan Drago’s son after all in Creed II

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Ever since Sylvester Stallone took over writing/directing duties from Ryan Coogler in the upcoming CREED movie, it seemed that the next inevitable step for the sequel would be for Adonis Creed – played by Michael B. Jordan – to confront his past with Ivan Drago in some way. For those who don't know, SPOILER FOR A DECADES OLD MOVIE, Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed, Adonis' father. So, yeah, there might still be some fresh wounds there.

Now it seems that might no longer be a rumor. In an interview with MMAFighting.com, MMA fighter Sage Northcutt revealed this tidbit:

The new Creed II movie is coming out so I was actually going to audition for that. Got a little audition tape, so hopefully that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being Ivan Drago’s son in the movie? That would be pretty fun. Sylvester Stallone seems like a really cool guy, and Dolph Lundgren seems awesome. I think me and Mr. Dolph Lundgren look kind of alike.

So there you have it. It's not officially confirmed, of course, but alongside Stallone's cryptic tweets, this news seems legit. And if so, what do you Schmoes think? Would you be down to see Adonis take on Ivan Drago's son? Or do you think that's too derivative and fan-service-y? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile CREED II will save us from Russia once more November 21st, 2018.
