Loki will have bigger impact on MCU than any show so far

In just a few days, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will return to make all our lives a little better in his very own Marvel series on Disney+. Unlike the Marvel TV shows of the past (I'm looking at you, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), these new shows will be just as important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as their big-screen brethren and will heavily impact the entire franchise going foward.

Both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier gave us some major revelations and character development, but according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the upcoming Loki series will go even further. The Marvel honcho told Empire that Loki is "tremendously important" and "perhaps will have more impact on the MCU than any of the shows thus far. What everybody thought about WandaVision, and was sort of true, and The Falcon and the Winter Solider, which was sort of true, is even more true for Loki." Feige also teased that the series will bring big changes to its title character. "You want to see, after six hours or so, characters change and evolve," Feige said. "We don't make these shows to not be radical right?" This isn't the first time that Loki's importance to the MCU has been stressed, as head-writer Michael Waldron has previously teased that the series will have "wide-reaching ramifications" for the franchise. I think we all know that Loki is going to be the real deal, I mean, did WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier get their own cereal tie-in? I think not.

The official synopsis for Loki:

Marvel Studios’ “Loki” features the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant. Kate Herron directs “Loki,” and Michael Waldron is head writer.

Loki is set to debut on Disney+ on June 9th.
