Len Wiseman leaves The Mummy reboot

Any of you looking forward to THE MUMMY reboot?

If you were looking forward to Len Wisemen directing it then you can kiss that pairing good-bye. Wiseman has dropped out of the reboot due to scheduling issues. Producers Sean Daniels, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are said to be looking for a replacement and fast.

Jon Spaihts (PROMETHEUS) wrote the script which not only plans to “reinvent” the series but give the audiences a darker version of the character who will have a human personality. Don’t worry, he still said to be the monster everyone loves but might have better motivation. The Mummy will not be just walking around aimlessly instead he will be “cunning and calculating”.

Kurtzman said back in September that the film drew inspiration from Michael Crichton’s novels and how they “ground fantastical sales in modern day science.” When they had chosen Wiseman they thought that he was the person that could take on the vision since he has moved the vampire genre forward with UNDERWORLD.

Who should they get to direct? Or should they just forget about this one?
