Kevin Smith’s Buckaroo Banzai landing with Amazon

THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI may have found a new outside of the 8th Dimension, and Amazon is ready to roll out the welcome mat. 

MGM and Amazon are close to a deal that would see Kevin Smith's BUCKAROO BANZAI television series landing at the streaming content provider. The show is still in development, so no specific episode order has been made, but it would appear things are progressing rather swiftly ever since Smith made his pitch to revive the 80s cult favorite.

In the past, Smith has said he'd like to incorporate the original Buckaroo Banzai – Peter Weller – in addition to fellow original cast members John Lithgow, Christopher Lloyd and Jeff Goldblum somewhere along the way as he hopes to re-adapt the movie across a first season with a second season then moving the story ahead. But at this point, who knows who would be in or out… We just know BUCKAROO BANZAI is nearing a new place to live.
