We've heard that Jared Leto has really been getting into his character of the Joker on the set SUICIDE SQUAD, but that's something his fellow cast members suspected from the very beginning. When the cast of SUICIDE SQUAD began prepping for the film Jared Leto knew that he wasn't going to be able to attend, but he still wanted to make sure his presence was felt with several strange gifts for the cast.
Adam Beach, who plays Slipnot in the film, spoke to E! Online during the premiere of JOE DIRT 2: BEAUTIFUL LOSER and revealed that gifts from Leto included "a nice love letter with a black box with a rat in it—a live rat," for Margot Robbie and a handful of bullets along with a letter for Will Smith. Also included was a video for the entire cast as well as a dead hog. That…makes sense. As too what Jared Leto said in the video, Adam Beach explains:
Basically, what he said was, 'Guys, I can't be there but I want you to know I'm doing my work as hard as you guys. The video he showed is in character. It blew our minds away. Then we realized that day, this is real. … He encompasses this beautiful man and he shows it in, 'Hello, how are you?' But in an instant, he goes to psychotic behavior where you're in fear. But you love him because he has both of those genuine sides.
Jared Leto is certainly getting into the role, but whether all that effort pays off will have to wait until SUICIDE SQUAD opens on August 5, 2016.
