Jai Courtney up for role of Deadshot in Suicide Squad

The DC Comics adaptation of SUICIDE SQUAD continues to gain attention with some eyebrow raising casting decisions. While nothing is official yet, so far we know that Will Smith could be up for the role of Captain Boomerang, Tom Hardy as Rick Flag, and Margot Robbie is looking to play Harley Quinn. Jesse Eisenberg could potentially appear as Lex Luthor, and Jared Leto is apparently also in talks to play The Joker. Now enter Jai Courtney, who Warner Bros. is looking at to play the Batman villain Deadshot.

Variety reports that Courtney is in talks to play Deadshot, one of the leading members of the squad of supervillains, for the David Ayer directed movie. I can’t see a lot of people caring too much for this choice; known mostly for franchise movies like A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, DIVERGENT, and JACK REACHER, Courtney might need something more substantial than the upcoming TERMINATOR: GENISYS to show some real chops.

While Ayer continues to fine-tune the script for a 2015 production start, we are sure to hear a lot more when it comes to casting this ambitious project. What do you guys think about this casting possibility?
