I hope none of you purchased advanced tickets to see Ron Howard’s IN THE HEART OF THE SEA starring Chris Hemsworth, because that ship has sailed. Warner Bros. has moved the movie from March 13, 2015 to December 11, 2015. While there hasn’t been a reason provided yet, I imagine it has to do with the effects work on the film; if you said this movie looked epic, you probably wouldn’t deserve a punch in the face because you would be right. There’s also a good chance that some suit and ties saw the movie and decided it was deserving of the Oscar buzz and figured it had a good chance in the December thunderdome.
Now that IN THE HEART OF THE SEA has left the March 13th release date open, Warner Bros. is moving up the Liam Neeson thriller RUN ALL NIGHT which was scheduled for April to take over that date. Enjoy the December 11th weekend while you can Warner Bros., STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS arrives the week after to take over.
