Ian McShane will return as Winston for Chad Stahelski’s John Wick sequel

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Keanu Reeves won't be the only familiar face returning for the JOHN WICK sequel, THR reports that Ian McShane will be reprising his role of Winston, the owner of The Continental, a hotel for assassin's which "caters to the hit-person community with its discretion, on-call doctors and no-killing rule." McShane didn't have a ton to do in JOHN WICK, but he was, as he always is, a very welcome addition to the film. Hopefully we'll get to see even more of Winston this time around.

Chad Stahelski will be directing the JOHN WICK sequel solo this time around as his partner in ass-kicking, David Leitch, will instead be directing Charlize Theron in THE COLDEST CITY. The JOHN WICK sequel is set to begin shooting this week but still seems to be putting its cast together as it was just this afternoon when we found out that Common would be playing the sequel's chief villain, "a head of security for a female crime lord."

We don't know much about the plot of JOHN WICK 2 , other than these vague hints from Keanu Reeves:

I think we have a really good premise, and it’s an organic premise. It’s basically — to me there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John.

JOHN WICK 2 has no release date at the moment, but we can probably expect it to land sometime in 2016.
